Waste incineration plant with downstream district heating system.
In order to be able to use the fuel more efficiently when recycling waste, the plant operator opted for a steam boiler alongside a multi-stage Spilling steam turbine when the boiler house was refitted. So now electricity can also be generated alongside heat using the same amount of fuel.
A large part of the generated heat is now fed into the district heating grid, the rest is cooled away. Since the district heating grid has to supply different flow temperatures depending on the time of the year, a 6-stage turbine with variable back pressure was designed. Furthermore, the plant is equipped with a bleed for the feed water pre-heating which requires steam at higher pressures.
